Paint + Pop at Studio 928 is a weekly after-school open paint studio where teens can relax, create, and express themselves—no assignments, no pressure, just art. It’s perfect if you’re looking for a creative, safe, and fun after-school option for high school students.

This is a freestyle supported painting session. Students paint what they want, explore materials at their own pace, and enjoy a welcoming studio environment with soft drinks and light refreshments included. It’s part creative hangout, part art studio, and part community space—perfect after a long school day.

This is not a formal art class or lesson but are supervised by an art instructor.
Our studio is located in Oak Park, Illinois, approximately 15 minutes from Chicago and about one mile from the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio.
Spaces are limited to keep the class comfortable and personal.

Cheryl Vargas is a local artist based in Oak Park, Illinois, and a former interpreter (docent) at the Frank Lloyd Wright Home and Studio. She enjoys helping people feel comfortable exploring creativity, especially those who are new to art or returning to it later in life.
Her classes are designed to be welcoming, relaxed, and beginner-friendly, with clear guidance and plenty of time to work at your own pace. She believes art should feel accessible, enjoyable, and pressure-free for everyone.
